in april the clown centre mangler wrote in
an email
..."town centres play a
significant
social and economic function that is
largely overlooked or misunderstood -
they need to
create a healthy social mix and economic opportunity and
Bangor
is only now on the path to recreating this.

Clearly the laying down of the
red carpet to the likes of Safeway and HMV has now
backfired as these stores are reporting poor
sales.
dont worry though we are all only too
aware of what he meant in a presentation to the council
last year when he spoke of the likes of HMV coming at a
cost and after protracted persuasion - look at how we
lost four music stores out of the town centre in the
last year.
but as he later adds (and how
wonderful it is that he is supporting the local traders
so much), "Personally, Ive the bulk of mine done and
have used the internet more this year"

I often wondered, exactly what does his job
entail?
This is bad for the Town, mangler is a good
description. |

 I feel really sorry for the small shopkeepers
in the Town,but this is what happens when a none elected
Clown sets himself up as a self appointed spokesperson
and Town manager.Wineing,dining.social climbing and
sucking up to large Multi-nationals.
The last thing
Bangor and Holywood needs is another freeloader.(I can
only imagine his wage packet)
Local shopkeepers
should make their feelings known by picketing his rent
and rate free office on the main street.
Act before
its to late! |
